I changed mine last winter and share the following with you. Skip the special tool mentioned if you have access to a 3/8" air wrench. Use a tapered end of a broom handle (that is what the shop guys shared with me after I ordered tghe special tool, returned it because it wasn't correct and they got the suposedly correct one in) to keep the inner part from turning while you spin out the allen bolt in the bottom of the tube. You have to disassemble the forks to get the seal out after you removed the retaining ring. I flushed the goop out of the bottom and used the recommended oil on reassembly. Also got the neoprene wet suit type gaiters for dirt bikes to prevent premature failure of the fork seals again. I think mine failed due to hard bugs sticking to the forks and nicking the seals, both of mine were leaking by 14K miles. Contact me if you need more information Max
